Hi, I'm Niah and I'm a psychologist in Canberra, Australia. I was trained in London and I work with people who experience a range of psychological challenges in their daily life, from relationship and interpersonal struggles, anxiety and depression, through to experiences of psychosis. I also work with people who simply wish to make positive changes in their life - to take their life in a new direction, or to remove obstacles that may be limiting their potential, in both work or relationships.
With an extensive background in mental health research and clinical experience I utilise a wide range of techniques to offer psychology, coaching and counselling in Canberra.
Drawing on a background of evidence-based psychological theories and therapeutic models, I create an individually-tailored approach to meet the unique needs of each person.
I collaborate with my clients to discover the most workable ways to improve their experience and move towards a positive way of living. Some people may seek assistance for complex psychological concerns, whereas others may feel they simply wish to improve their current way of working, clarifying their life direction in order to move towards a life they value.

This depends on the goals you would like to achieve, or the current difficulties for which you are seeking assistance. Some clients find that they are able to achieve what they need to with only a few sessions (10 sessions or under). For those whose difficulties are more long standing they may want to attend for longer. This can be discussed in your initial session, and can be tailored to suit your needs. Sessions can take place weekly or fortnightly, and there is no minimum commitment to the number of sessions, you can simply see how you feel and decide to continue if you wish.
The first appointment is an initial assessment, where we would discuss your current goals or difficulties to get a clear idea of these and what you would like to achieve. This session can assist us to determine the various ways in which we could work to address your requirements, and to establish some achievable goals. During this session we can also determine how many sessions might be helpful, or we can simply agree to meet again on a session-by-session basis.
As a psychologist I adhere to strict guidelines regarding the privacy and confidentiality of my clients. Any information you disclose to me, and any records relating to our work are confidential and will not be disclosed without your consent, except under particular exceptional circumstances, or if required by law. If your GP or another professional requires disclosure of any of your information this will be discussed with you first. Further information regarding confidentiality can be discussed in our first session.
My current fee is $230 for 50-55 mins and I accept cards only (payment via eftpos). Most private health funds cover psychologists' fees, but the level of cover varies so please check with your health fund. For any further enquiries regarding fees please contact admin via the contact form below.
